‘We’re shouting for Islanders who love to Make,
and love where they live.’
It is a truth widely acknowledged that the Island has a great many creative folk living and making on it.
This website started February 2012 by Sara Netherway with the aim to create an online social network which connected the many creative people, events and workshops that happen in the Isle of Wight community. The network gave over 140 makers, at whatever stage in their career, a free space to upload photos and videos of their work, find paths to creative business solutions and receive regular email news updates.
Whilst it ran, over 500 photos were uploaded to the network. This shared showcase gave a unique snapshot of what was being created on the Island at that time, feeding insight and inspiration through the network.
Although the network has now closed at its peak month the website received just over 25,000 unique visits.

The ‘Support Handmade on the Isle of Wight’ badge has been widely adopted by makers. It’s a great way to keep spreading this important message to buy handmade and support local communities. Save the logo on the left hand side to use it, or Contact Us to get it.
Please be aware that the information within the site may not be an up to date representation of a makers work or contact details.
